The first of a series of Relay For Life storytelling videos
Today, the Relay For Life movement includes more than 2.5 million participants at 3,500 events worldwide, and continues to be the largest revenue stream for the American Cancer Society - and the top-grossing peer-to-peer event in the U.S. - raising nearly $6.5 billion since its inception in 1985.
During National Family Caregivers Month, it is important to honor all those walking alongside loved ones on their cancer journey.
The first of a series of Relay For Life storytelling videos features Brandi, caregiver to both her husband and father. Brandi’s father battled liver cancer and her husband is a colon cancer survivor.
Brandi is also a passionate Relay For Life team captain to honor her husband and father. Relay For Life gives Brandi a sense that everyone is going through this together.
“My father and my husband are the two best friends I’ve got. When they were diagnosed, the fear hit me. How could I lose both of my best friends at the same time?” said Brandi. “I wanted to give them their own personal Relay For Life.”
Watch Brandi’s story on YouTube or Brand Toolkit.
Encourage everyone you know to start or join a Relay team and start fundraising! If they raise $200 by Friday, November 15, they will receive a comfortable long-sleeve T-shirt.
