Lifelong Chiefs fan is going to Super Bowl LV in Tampa.
Last week, ACS and the NFL offered fans the opportunity to donate to ACS for a chance to win the Super Bowl experience of a lifetime. This week, one lifelong Kansas City Chiefs fan’s dreams have come true: David Garrett of Kansas City, MO. is making the trip to Tampa, Fla. to see his beloved Chiefs take on the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.
Garrett learned he won in a surprise video call with Emmy Award-winning actor Mario Lopez, the celebrity ambassador for the sweepstakes. Garrett was thrilled to receive the news, as you can see in this video of the call.
He’ll attend the game with his wife, Ellen. The pair will enjoy two tickets to the game, round-trip airfare, hotel, and memorabilia. David is a longtime Chiefs season ticket holder, and this weekend marks the first time he’ll cheer on the team in person at the Super Bowl.
Cancer has touched his life in a number of ways; several family members have been diagnosed with the disease, and an uncle passed away from it. In the midst of his excitement at learning he won, David expressed his gratitude for ACS and the lifesaving work we do.
In addition to the NFL Super Bowl Sweepstakes, there are several local activations taking place in Tampa this weekend, including:
Now through Feb. 6, the Super Bowl Experience fan festival will include Crucial Catch signage and an on-stage mention.
On Feb. 6, ACS and Crucial Catch will receive an in-show mention during the Super Bowl Gospel Celebration on BET.
On Super Bowl Sunday, we’ll have more than 1,000 ACS survivor fan cutouts in stands, and four ACS CHANGE Grant center healthcare workers will attend the game.
