SPEAK UP to promote wellness in LGBTQ+ community

Second annual webinar is free and open to all.

All ACS and ACS CAN team members and everyone in our communities are invited to join a free webinar, SPEAK UP for Your Heath: Cancer and Wellness in the LGBTQ+ Community, taking place virtually on Wednesday, Nov. 16, at 12 noon ET.

This year’s keynote speakers include Dr. Gary Blick, chief medical officer of Healthcare Advocates International, and Dr. Don Dizon, director of the Pelvic Malignancies Program at Lifespan Cancer Institute and Director of Medical Oncology at Rhode Island Hospital. The discussion will be moderated by JC Cantu, strategic director, Diversity, Equity and Inclusion. This webinar is hosted by ACS' New England LGBTQ+ Strategy Group but will discuss information valuable to everyone. Check out full details on the event website, https://acsspeakupevent.org, including a recording of last year’s SPEAK UP webinar.

Research confirms that lesbian, gay, bisexual, and transgender (LGBT) people have a disproportionate burden of cancer. The American Cancer Society believes all people should have a fair and just opportunity to live a longer, healthier life free from cancer regardless of how much money they make, the color of their skin, their sexual orientation, gender identity, disability status, or where they live.

All are welcome to register for the webinar and share the details with your constituents who are interested in this topic.

Or, host a watch party with your colleagues or community! For information, or to ask any questions, please contact Michael Duff, director, Philanthropy.
