More than 600,000 joined the movement to end breast cancer this season.
It has been a whirlwind October and the 2022 Making Strides Against Breast Cancer season is going out with a bang as events begin to wind down. The program is well on its way to hitting the $35.9 million revenue target for the year with 30 events already achieving goal and many more just dollars away from doing so. In addition, our community presence increased across the more than 154 events this season with 640,000 local event participants joining the movement. Among all breast cancer fundraising walks, Making Strides continues to hold its own nationally, coming in at #8 among America’s top 30 peer-to-peer fundraising programs in 2021, and the only breast cancer walk to hold a spot in the top 10.
Enter to win Sand & Sea Getaway
Revenue will continue to grow as participant fundraising remains a focus for the next few weeks during the Sand & Sea Getaway promotion. During the campaign, those who have, or will, hit the $1,000 fundraising milestone by Nov. 20 can be entered to win one of three four-night, all-inclusive stays at a Hard Rock resort. Participants who have raised $1,000 receive one entry and those who achieve Pacesetter status by raising $2,500 will receive two entries. An additional entry is earned for every additional $2,500 raised after reaching Pacesetter status (up to three entries allowed per household). Full rules for the promotion available here.

“This season, I was excited to join several communities as they celebrated Making Strides Against Breast Cancer, and I was amazed at the passion, excitement, and energy our ACS team, volunteers, survivors, thrivers, sponsors, and walkers brought to the events,” said Vicky Green, strategic director, Making Strides. “I heard so many stories from our supporters and was constantly reminded of WHY we do this.
