Real Men Wear Pink celebrates over $11M raised

Seven Ambassadors raised more than $100,000 this season.

The competition has officially closed, but the revenue continues to grow as the 2022 Real Men Wear Pink (RMWP) campaign celebrates more than $11 million raised this season in support of breast cancer research and patient programs. Each year, community leaders and influencers in communities across the nation step up and leverage the power of wearing pink to raise funds and draw attention to the fight to end breast cancer, for everyone. Collectively, the top 10 RMWP ambassadors raised nearly $1.1 million, with seven reaching the $100K+ milestone. Congratulations to this year’s top 10 ambassadors:

  1. Jamie Walton, RMWP of Atlanta
  2. Grant Navarre, RMWP of Southwest Louisiana*
  3. Chris Galla, RMWP of Atlanta
  4. Jim Martin, RMWP of Greater Philadelphia
  5. Michael Barasch, RMWP of NYC/Long Island*
  6. Will Clegg, RMWP of Chattanooga
  7. Fraser Murray, RMWP of NYC/Long Island

In addition, 20 ACS team members also joined local campaigns and raised more than $55,800 through their collective efforts. A special shout out to Tim Phillips, chief legal and risk officer, for being the top ACS fundraiser this season, bringing in more than $13,000 for the RMWP of Atlanta campaign.

New incentive programs were introduced this year to help boost fundraising at the $25,000 and $100,000 levels. Those joining the $100,000 Century Club will receive a custom RMWP pink jacket from David Alan Clothing.

“The 2022 campaign saw significant growth in high performing ambassadors and we are excited that seven individuals have raised over $100,000 and 72 individuals have raised more than $25,000,” said Paul Purdy, strategic director, Endurance Events & Network Fundraising. “This, paired with the success of growing the average raised per ambassador to over $4,800 each, shows the commitment and motivation of our ambassadors.”

While the campaign officially wrapped up earlier this month, there is still time to collect any outstanding funds! ACS team members should work with their ambassadors to deposit any outstanding fundraising via the ACS FUNdraising App (or mailing donations to be processed) and follow up on any matching gifts or sponsorships that still need to be collected.

Editor’s note: The RMWP website is experiencing technical issues, therefore the fundraising total is manually updated on a weekly basis. At this time the fundraising total has surpassed the $11 million mark.
