The ACS Superheroes team placed #2 in the corporate category. Nicely done!
"We beat the mythical 10 second barrier - handily," said Ian O'Brien, vice president, Supply Chain, and captain of the team. "Unfortunately that last corporate team was comprised of 20 large fit construction worker men on a mission. Too bad Delta is building! They won by about half a second."
One hundred and seven teams of 20 people each pulled throughout the day at Delta TechOps. All proceeds from this fundraiser benefit the Society.
Here's the list of our superheroes: Gary Reedy, Danny Sheltz, Joshua Menifee, Michael Ehrler, Brian Kyle, Gregg Twadell, Kenny Oxler, Monique Compito, Lenora Oeters, Mike Neal, Steve Breazeale, Emily Hoffman, Paul Littleton, Dana Heyl, Jay Foster, Jake Hooten, Manny Abud, Simit Bhandari, and Ian O’Brien.
Pulling with Delta's Team Hope, made up of cancer survivors and caregivers, was Delta Air Lines CEO Ed Bastian.
Going on simultaneously at Delta was its 6th annual Corporate Relay For Life, the largest corporate Relay For Life in the U.S. More than 1,000 employees are involved, and so far they have raised $1.1 million this year.
More than 4,500 Delta employees, customers, and their friends and family members attend these two events.
Delta Day of Hope
On May 9, Delta employees at more than 100 airports around the world hosted Relay For Life fundraisers and awareness events during the airline's Delta Day of Hope.
