Congrats to Sleep Number Corporation

ACS honors 2022 Corporate Partner of the Year.

The American Cancer Society is pleased to recognize Sleep Number Corporation with the 2022 Corporate Partner of the Year Award.

The Sleep Number Corporation committed to a multi-year partnership with ACS to benefit cancer patients and caregivers, by conducting joint research with the goal of developing sleep strategies and guidance for cancer patients and survivors and the first ever sleep guidelines. Over the next five years, ACS will leverage Sleep Number’s proprietary sleep data and sleep expertise in its research to identify the impact of quality sleep on cancer prevention and recovery. In addition, Sleep Number has begun furnishing ACS Hope Lodges with its life-changing 360® Smart Beds, Sleep Number® bedding and other sleep solutions to provide comforting sleep experiences to patients staying there during their cancer treatment journey.

In addition to their research partnership, Sleep Number collaborates with ACS on various initiatives to further their commitment to the Society’s mission. In partnership with NFL Crucial Catch and ACS, Sleep Number hosted ACS’s “Defender,” a digital cancer risk assessment tool, inside its content studio at the media center at Super Bowl LVII. Defender uses a simple quiz to promote cancer screenings and prevention. For every Defender assessment that was completed between February 6-20, Sleep Number matched with a donation of $100, which resulted in an additional $50,000 contribution to ACS.

Sleep Number also provides ongoing support for the Champions of Hope Gala, an annual event benefiting ACS. In 2022, the event raised more than $500,000 to support the mission and work of ACS, including operational costs of the Minnesota Hope Lodges in Minneapolis and Rochester. Shelly Ibach, chair, president and CEO of Sleep Number Corporation is also a passionate advocate for the ACS mission by leading the CEOs Against Cancer Chapter of Minnesota as she rallies the business community to improve the lives of people with cancer and their families through research, patient and caregiver support and advocacy. Sleep Number’s commitment to our mission will directly help patients and their caregivers by strengthening their emotional, mental, and physical health leading to an improved quality of life.
