More than 780,000 miles logged during the virtual step challenge.
The American Cancer Society's Fit2BeCancerFree Employee Challenge is a wrap for 2022! With more than 1.9 million steps tracked, this virtual step tracking challenge was open to all companies and CEOs and encouraged employers to rally colleagues, friends, and communities to get active in support of our work to end cancer. In total, more than 16,600 participants rose to the challenge this spring, donating more than $547,000.
Fit2BeCancerFree kicked off on April 7, 2022, with the CEO challenge, followed by the three-week Employee Challenge that concluded on April 28. The CEOs had a full 24 hours to log as many steps as possible, and winners were announced on April 8.
Through the MoveSpring app, the employee challenge participants experienced a virtual journey that encouraged steps each day, engaged employees with ACS through motivational milestones, and ultimately helped to raise funds for our mission. Today, we celebrate challenge winners in the following categories:
- 2022 National Employee Challenge Winner (most distance accrued): McKesson with a total of 254,903 miles
- Mission Impact Winner (most dollars raised): State Compensation Insurance Fund with $100,848 raised
- Highest Average Participation (highest average distance per participant): Acquis Consulting with an average of 6 miles per participant per day
The final leaderboard for all participating CEOs and organizations, including Team ACS, can be found at cancer.org/fit2be.
