ACS CAN held congressional briefing on Cancer Facts & Figures

Virtual event was open to team members and volunteers.

On Thursday, March 16, at 11 a.m. ET, the American Cancer Society Cancer Action Network (ACS CAN) hosted a virtual congressional briefing to discuss the recently released Cancer Facts  & Figures 2023. This event will offer dialogue on the unique challenges and disparities experienced by specific communities and will explore policy solutions that can help end cancer as we know, it for everyone.

ACS CAN President Lisa Lacasse and American Cancer Society Chief Scientific Officer Dr. William L. Dahut along with several other guest speakers will address critical findings in the report, as well as the increase prostate cancer incidence, disparities in cancer screening and outcomes, and the cancer burden in Native American communities.

  • Congressman Derek Kilmer (D-WA)
  • Donald Warne, MD, MPH, co-Director Johns Hopkins Center for Indigenous Health
