ACS has significant presence at top oncology conference. The American Society of Clinical Oncology (ASCO) Annual Meeting, running June 2 – 6, in Chicago, IL, brings together more than 40,000 oncology professionals from around the world. ACS will use the global event as an opportunity to drive awareness of the organization and our mission across the cancer continuum with key players in the cancer ecosystem – researchers, health care providers, industry leaders, patient advocacy groups, and more. The theme for the 2023 annual meeting is: Partnering with Patients: The Cornerstone of Cancer Care and Research. How will ACS be involved? ACS will have a multi-faceted, targeted presence at ASCO, focused in several areas: A booth in the ASCO exhibition hall will serve as a central hub for the ACS presence at the meeting. This space will house ACS materials and be a resource for event attendees who would like to learn more about the organization. It will target cancer care clinicians, faculty and other research professionals, and patient advocacy groups. Pictured here is last year's ASCO exhibit booth. This year's booth will be significantly larger, featuring ACS materials and showcasing ACS experts during the event ACS leaders from across the organization will attend dozens of carefully planned partner meetings during ASCO.Discovery Pillar team members will attend the meeting, delivering and attending presentations. At the exhibit booth, ACS will highlight four themes to demonstrate how we are a key partner to professionals and organizations in the cancer community. The booth will allow conference attendees a chance to “meet the expert” focused on these themes in brief sessions. Themes include: Advancing research and fueling therapy developmentTraining and workforce developmentAccess to care and patient supportHealth equityA spotlight on discoveryThis year’s scientific program at ASCO will feature more than 2,900 abstracts complementing the meeting’s theme of partnering with patients.
